TAMTAM objektentheater has it’s 45th anniversary, and that ‘s a reason for a party!
From 1979 we made 41 performances and performed them in 34 countries all over the world.
But the anniversary will be celebrated in our home town Deventer with an anniversary premiere in the MIMIK theatre and performances in Theater Bouwkunde, The Public Library Theatre and Noordenbergstraat 9.

Anniversary premiere: A Paper Life
A short, rough version of this new production was already shown at Deventer Op Stelten in 2024.
The long theatre version will premiere at the anniversary celebration.

Four extra performances A Paper Life
To give more people the opportunity to see the performance, there are extra performances in Theater Bouwkunde, where we have many fond memories. Especially for the anniversary, this atmospheric theatre will open again and Restaurant Bouwkunde will serve a special TAMTAM menu.

In 45 years of touring the world, many strange events have occurred. This evening juicy anecdotes about both small disasters and hilarious experiences. presented with live music and short improvisations with object actors from various performances.

Three performances GARAGE
Originally created as a living room performance during the Covid lockdowns but now in a version with a video camera so that the details can be seen on a screen.
Of course, this performance is not staged in a large theatre but very intimately for 40 people in the cute little venue of our neighbour in Noordenbergstraat 9 in Deventer.

50 Years
The first play that Gérard Schiphorst and Marije van der Sande created and performed together was even 5 years earlier, in September 1974.
So in fact their collaboration has existed for 50 years. But in the first years, in addition to their theatre-activities, they both still had a job on the side.
Marije as a drama teacher and Gérard as a publisher and theatre critic. In 1979, the theatre company was officially founded and a VAT number was applied for making ti quite official…
