Object art

TAMTAM’s theatre performances move between theatre and visual arts. It is therefore not surprising that Gérard Schiphorst and Marije van der Sande also make visual art with found objects. Often their work has a high level of theatricality where the performance has come to a standstill and goes on in the imagination of the viewer. Some of the works on display are still for sale.

The beauty of the perishable, the talents of the discarded, these are not only the ingredients of the performances but also the basis of the visual work. It makes the viewer look differently at the worthless things, first ignored because they were lying in the gutter or hidden in the back of a drawer.

Exhibitions
The object art can regularly be seen at exhibitions. Some examples from the past: Tafelhalle (Nürnberg, Germany), Kröller-Müller Museum (Otterlo), Oerol (Terschelling), Concordia (Enschede), Kunstenlab (Deventer), DRU factory (Ulft). Gallery De Kunsten (Deventer), Bergkerk (Deventer), Bookstore Praamstra (Deventer), Park Randenbroek (Amersfoort).

In 2021, TAMTAM realized a theatrical installation in the new Toy Museum in Deventer, which also includes visual work.
